Topic Highlights
Many EMS responders and organizations may have difficulty putting together regular EMS continuing education programs. This program is designed to meet the needs of students seeking to maintain their NR status by completing a refresher program.
Topics included are anatomy and physiology, initial patient assessment and management, airway and ventilation, pathophysiology of shock, and general pharmacology, trauma assessment and management of shock and chest, open abdominal, spinal injuries, and burns. Cardiopulmonary material will focus on providing ventilatory support, cardiac arrest management, cardiovascular compromise support, and post resuscitation care. Medical issues on drug abuse, near drowning and allergic reactions will be rounded out with lectures covering children in medical distress.
Audience
This class is intended for NREMT-Paramedic certified providers who are preparing for NREMT-P recertification and need a 48 hour refresher course. |
