Baby Breaths: Pediatric Vent Management

Objectives
* Review respiratory failure and cardiopulmonary physiology in the pediatric and neonate patients.
* Review modes of ventilation to include negative pressure ventilation, CPAP, BiPAP, and common ventilator modes.
* Discuss case scenarios as they relate to ventilating the pediatric patient.

Topic Highlights
This topic is legitimate critical care medicine hard core designed to prepare the critical care provider and/or transport team member for the significant issues involved with ventilating the sick pediatric patient.

This topic will cover the pathophysiology of the pediatric cardiopulmoary system and discuss common ventilation methods and settings for the non-invasive and invasive side of things.
